The SIM is unlimited. Most backup products carry a small emergency data allowance, which is exactly the wrong thing to find out about halfway through an outage. There is no allowance here to run out of.

Two ways this goes, and you will know which is yours
If your network can do it
Business-grade firewalls and routers can be set to fall back to a second connection on their own. Where yours can, the backup takes over without anybody doing anything, and the first you hear of it may be the bill from whoever fixes the line.
If it cannot
It is a manual switch. Somebody moves the business over to the backup router and work carries on. Less elegant than automatic, and still a great deal quicker than waiting on a repair date you do not control.
Either way, you find out first
Tell us what you have on site and we will tell you which of the two applies to you, before you commit to anything. Nobody should discover which kind of backup they bought during an outage.
We ship ready configured units for plug and play. Automatic failover configurations into existing networks will require your IT provider’s input.

- Does it switch over automatically?
- It depends on your own network equipment. Business-grade firewalls and routers can usually be configured to fail over to a second connection by themselves, and where yours can, the backup takes over without anyone doing anything. Where it cannot, it is a manual switch. Tell us what you have on site and we will tell you which applies to you before you commit.
- Do you come on site to set it up?
- No. The router arrives configured for your account, ready to power on. Anything that needs hands on your own network is yours or your IT provider’s to do.
- Will our phones keep working?
- If you run your phones with us, calls travel over whatever internet connection is carrying your traffic, so they carry on while the backup is up. That is the case for taking both from one supplier rather than two.
- What does it cost?
- €45 a month on a twelve-month term, and the router rental is included in that figure. Billing is monthly and in arrears, on the same cycle as your other services with us.
- How much data is on the SIM?
- It is unlimited. Most backup products carry a small emergency allowance, which is exactly the wrong thing to discover halfway through an outage. There is no allowance here to run out of.
- Do we own the router?
- No. It is rented, and the rental is part of the €45. It stays ours.
- Can we use it as our main connection instead of broadband?
- That is a different product. Mobile 5G and LTE as a primary connection sits under Business Broadband.
- How quickly can it be in place?
- Once the order is placed the router is configured and shipped. We will give you a date rather than an estimate when we know what you are ordering.
